Generations Playground
Go play outside, no matter what your age!
Interacting with nature and enjoying outdoor physical activity is a cornerstone of our lifestyle here on the West Coast — an experience that should be enjoyed by all residents in our community. With this in mind, we are pleased to have united with the City of White Rock and the White Rock Fire Fighters Charitable Society to bring the fun and health benefits of playing outside back into our community by building a $900,000 playground and green space for people of all ages and abilities. Small children, youth, adults, seniors and those using personal assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs now have the freedom to use this pristine outdoor area, which opened in September 2018. All activities are intuitive and easy to understand, providing uninhibited access and flexibility in use. This playground is not just for children, but for ALL people who want to improve their health, wellness and enjoyment by getting out of the house and being active. Our hope is that this playground will offer safety, dignity and independence for all ages and abilities for many years to come!

For Us This is Just the Beginning!
The Foundation supports initiatives, outside of the hospital campus, positively impacting health and wellness in the community. Healthy active citizens reduce the demand on Peace Arch Hospital services over the long term. As the first project of Peace Arch Hospital Foundation’s Healthy Community Steering Committee, Generations Playground is a leap toward directly improving the health of citizens in our community, regardless of ability.

Generations Playground is for all ages!
With picnic tables, shady places to rest, and myriad equipment to explore, Generations Playground is a wonderful green space for people of all ages who want to engage in physical activity.

Less Screen Time, More Green Time!
Physical activity for older adults is key for health aging. The playground features exercise stations suitable for a variety of activities and capabilities. The goal is safety, dignity, and independence for all abilities.
