On Wednesday, January 22nd, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation hosted a Chinese New Year celebration at Morgan Creek Golf Club. With over 70 attendees, this feel-good gathering commemorated the Year of the Snake with themed takeaways and vibrant dishes. There were also several speakers who highlighted the exciting updates of Peace Arch Hospital and our Foundation.

Cici Liang, Chair of PAHF’s Asian Committee, introduced the committee’s work over the past two years, showcasing the immense impact the Asian community has had on Peace Arch Hospital. She also explained why it is crucial for immigrants to support our local community and hospital. Dr. Bbandama Makwati, ER Doctor at Peace Arch Hospital, talked about Peace Arch Hospital’s Emergency Department, and mentioned that our hospital is his favourite because the physicians are experienced and the equipment is state-of-the-art. Finally, Susan Kelly, Regional Food Operations Manager at Peace Arch Hospital, introduced our latest campaign, Healing Starts Here, which is aimed at modernizing our kitchen facilities, elevating food services, and enhancing the dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff alike.

This event was also a time of giving! RBC Foundation made an incredible $1,500 donation to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation. Their team also provided volunteers to assist us celebrating the Chinese New Year with our community. We are so grateful to RBC Foundation for their dedication to giving back to communities they serve.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Chinese New Year event! We appreciate your support and commitment to build a healthier future for all.
